Timothy P Roberts “Reeling in a Dream” Fund
Mission
The Timothy P Roberts “Reeling in a Dream” Fund was founded by family and friends following Tim’s death on August 25th, 2005 after a year long battle with esophageal cancer. He was 22 years old. Throughout his struggle, Tim showed amazing compassion for fellow cancer-stricken young adults, even as he was among the most ill. His oft-spoken desire was to provide other young adults, generally in the age range of 18-30, with little things that would make a big difference toward making their lives fun, easier and satisfying, even in the face of their illness. He hoped to fulfill dreams and wishes that could not be granted within the scope of traditional medical care to the young adult patient. While Tim did not see his dream realized, the Funds’ goal is to fulfill his dream, and more importantly, the dreams of others, in loving memory of Tim’s compassion.
The Fund is administered by the staff of Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and one hundred percent of each donation goes directly to the Fund.
